According to Russell Brand, porn today must be “dizzying and exciting but corrupting in a way that we can’t even think about” for a young man. We’re a bit shocked that such a statement would come from the actor given some of his acting roles.

Brand goes on to say why he doesn’t think it’s good for him:

Voyeurism: “An obsession of looking at women rather than interacting with them.”

Objectification: “Guilty of that all the time … Come on! See everybody as equal human beings! But once that biological drive to procreate is connected with a culture of objectification that’s a very hard equation to break.”

The Need to Validate Masculinity through Beautiful Women: “This is something that I’ve suffered from terribly. Trophies and the idea that beautiful women are collectibles … fear of true intimacy, inability to relate to women in an honest and intimate way despite deep loneliness.”

He even admits, “Pornography is … affecting my ability to relate to women, to relate myself, to my own sexuality, my own spirituality.”

Mind-blowingly, Brand even speaks of the link between procreation and sensual love between consenting adults and attacks the corrupting influence of porn directly:

“If you’re constantly bombarded by great waves of filth it’s really difficult to remain connected to truth.”

So what do you think, is porn corrupting the young men in ways we can’t even begin to measure?
