Over the weekend, the U.K. Telegraph announced twenty unique job openings. The title of the job descriptions? Lego builder:
“The job specification says the candidate: ‘Must have Lego building experience and be able to design and build sturdy, accurate, complicated, safe and installable Lego models for a wide variety of Legoland attractions including miniature scale models and/or life sized organic models from prototypes, diagrams or computer generated instructions.’
Apparently it is not a job for novices. Successful candidates must have previous experience of Lego building, good communication skills, basic computer skills and the ability to receive and give constructive criticism.”
Only a small group of people will ever land a job with Lego. Regardless, though, various studies and experience have shown that building with blocks like Lego can enable important educational growth in children. These benefits include:
- Better math scores in later life.
 - Increased language abilities.
 - Greater creativity and problem-solving abilities.
 - Opportunity for emotional healing.
 - Improved social skills.

Such news means that Lego-loving parents can now buy the colored bricks for their children without qualms of conscience, for such buying habits are actually an investment in their child’s future!
