The ‘American KGB’ Goes to Work
FBI agents raided Mar-a-Largo, former President Donald Trump’s Florida home, on Aug. 8, 2022, supposedly looking for federal documents that Trump might have taken with him after leaving office.
A day earlier, with Vice President Kamala Harris acting as tiebreaker for the deadlocked vote, the Senate passed the $700 billion Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Among the bill’s planned expenditures are more than $300 billion for fighting climate change and another $300 billion devoted toward doubling the staff of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The bill now goes to the House, where it will likely pass.
Opposing the bill, the House Freedom Caucus noted that the IRA creates “an army of 87,000 new enforcement agents to target Americans with as many as one million more audits a year on taxpayers earning less than $200,000—the same middle-class that suffers the most from Bidenomics’ skyrocketing inflation.” The bill also allows the Secretary of the Treasury to bypass federal hiring guidelines and offer direct employment to job seekers, Anony Mee writes at the American Thinker, thereby ensuring that “only those who meet a political smell test get to participate in this new IRS enforcement program.”
Meanwhile, for the past 10 to 15 years, various non-military agencies of the government have been stockpiling weapons and ammunition. Way back in 2017 Forbes reported that agencies like the IRS, the Department of the Interior, the Department of Agriculture, and the Department of Education are all in possession of weapons and ammo. Right now, for instance, the IRS has over 4,400 firearms and more than 5 million bullets.
All these circumstances should leave us asking why.
Why did the FBI and whoever authorized that raid feel the need to storm Mar-A-Largo? Donald Trump is a former president of the United States. Lots of politicians and federal bureaucrats, Democrats and Republicans, despise him and want to keep him from running for office again, but seem oblivious to the fact that an attack such as this launches an assault on the dignity of the presidency. Why not just contact him through the mail or through his attorneys and ask for a meeting, or send two agents to knock at his door, present a warrant, and seek entry? Is this some sort of ploy to anger Trump’s MAGA base into doing something foolish and rash before the upcoming election?
It also seems curious that Democrats are intent on spending more money and hiking taxes through the Inflation Reduction Act—in the middle of a recession and massive current inflation. And what’s with calling it the Inflation Reduction Act anyway? That name is deceptive and smacks of propaganda, like some moniker of communism.
Why is the government seeking to add tens of thousands of agents to the ranks of the IRS? Such a goal is unrealistic: as of last summer, there were only 669,130 active and licensed certified public accountants in the United States. The IRS already has problems meeting its present recruitment goals. Where will it find tens of thousands of new agents?
Are these events random? Or are we in some complicated connect-the-dots maze?
Meanwhile, other anomalies keep making the rounds. The Hunter Biden laptop, for example, the story which the media ignored or trounced for the last two years, has now become fair game. Will that be the means to give the Bidens a one-way ticket back to Delaware? The show trials of the Jan. 6 circus: are they designed to smear not only Trump, but the half of America that voted for him? The United States has recently poured tens of billions of unvetted dollars into the Ukraine, declared one of the most corrupt countries in the world only five years ago. Does that flood of money come from a sincere desire to thwart the Russian invasion, or is there some other motive?
I have no idea … but here is what I do know: our government is waging an undeclared war on the American people. In their lust for power and control, in their pursuit of an agenda to transform the United States, they are breaking the bank and the laws of our country.
“The top nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help,” Ronald Reagan once said. That was funny 40 years ago, but times have changed. If we change it out and add a few words, we can bring that observation up to date: I’m from the government and I’m here to make you all serfs.
