Sickening Truths and Consequences of Government COVID Policies

American journalist H. L. Mencken once said, “Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, raise the black flag, and begin slitting throats.”

Dec. 30 was a day I wanted to spit on my hands.

That was the day I read the introduction to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health.

I don’t remember when so few pages—just over 10—of any book have managed to so sicken and enrage me. Encapsulated in this introduction, which was backed up by 70 endnotes, are the lies, the manipulations, the conniving, the mistakes, the corruption, the failures—and yes, even the malpractice murders—committed by our government, our bureaucrats, and our media over the last four decades, but in particular during the ugly mess of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kennedy is an attorney, the chairman and chief legal counsel for the Children’s Health Defense organization, and now the author of this massive and meticulously researched indictment of our government. He describes himself as “a lifelong Democrat whose family has had eighty years of deep engagement with America’s public health bureaucracy and long friendships with key federal regulators, including Anthony Fauci….”

Here are just a few of Kennedy’s initial charges against Dr. Fauci and crew:

We have no way of knowing how many people died from isolation, unemployment, deferred medical care, depression, mental illness, obesity, stress, overdoses, suicide, addiction, alcoholism, and the accidents that so often accompany despair. We cannot dismiss the accusations that his lockdowns proved more deadly than the contagion.

As Dr. Fauci’s policies took hold globally, 300 million humans fell into dire poverty, food insecurity, and starvation…According to the Associated Press (AP), during 2020, 10,000 children died each month due to virus-linked hunger from global lockdowns.

His lockdown predictably shattered the nation’s once-booming economic machine, putting 58 million Americans out of work.

All his strategies during COVID—falsifying science to bring dangerous and ineffective drugs to market, suppressing and sabotaging competitive products that have lower profit margins even if the cost is prolonging pandemics and losing thousands of lives—all of these share a common purpose: the myopic devotion to big Pharma.

Many of the facts in Kennedy’s book—and they are facts—are known to anyone who looks beyond the mainstream media news to online sites like Intellectual Takeout and magazines like Chronicles. This information was therefore but a minor cause of my anger.

No—my rage has to do with consequences. How is it, I and others may ask, that Anthony Fauci continues to appear on television and direct our COVID response rather than answering for his deceptions, missteps, and graft to a Congressional committee or, for that matter, to a federal court? How is it possible that he and other officials who promoted ineffectual and possibly dangerous vaccines while shooting down life-saving therapeutics are still running the show?

Our debacle in Afghanistan offers a similar expose of irresponsibility and the failure of our system to hold politicians and top generals to account. After we suffered a military and foreign policy catastrophe, leaving behind billions of dollars of armaments and abandoning Afghanis who had helped us, there were no consequences for the men and women who oversaw this withdrawal. The whole affair has been swept under the rug. Out of sight, out of mind.

And now there is Kennedy’s book with its massive revelations about greed and corruption backed up by more than 2,100 endnotes. Included as well is an honor list of more than 150 epidemiologists, virologists, and doctors who have tried to speak the truth about COVID-19 and our mistaken policies. The Real Anthony Fauci is less a book and more a legal brief of indictment.

How others have viewed this tome is enlightening about our current American mindset. If we visit the readers’ comments on Amazon, we find mostly five-star reviews, some of them brimming with praise, others with reservations. The revealing—and amusing ones—are the one-star reviews offering such short comments as “This is delusional. Pathetic,” and “This book is just another piece of pseudoscience propaganda to fuel conspiracy theories,” or “Horrible book of lies.”

Here we find those smears typical of the men and women of our age who cannot otherwise refute an argument.

The Real Anthony Fauci tells the story of money trumping medicine and power topping prevention and cure. These are sickening truths, and ones more deadly to what remains of our republic than any virus.
