Many times on Intellectual Takeout, we see our readers label our current age an “Idiocracy,” referring to the 2006 dystopian movie in which all future American citizens, including the president, are idiots.

Well, it now appears that the co-writer of “Idiocracy” agrees with them.

In a now-viral post on Twitter yesterday, Etan Cohen tweeted that “Idiocracy” has now become a “documentary”:

Presumably, Cohen was offering a critique of the 2016 election race in America. If so, actor Terry Crews, who played President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho, concurs. Last month he tweeted the following:

Cohen also added this tweet, “I thought the worst thing that would come true was everyone wearing Crocs.”

Should we be worried? Are the theatrics of the 2016 presidential race a sign that America is being progressively dumbed down?
